Before joining ICRA Germaine was the assistant-manager and (multi)media advisor at the Netherlands Board of Film Classification after having been an examiner and rating member for the same organization two years earlier. She recently produced a course on the mechanisms of media narrative for the EU-funded PLATO project, which was co-initiated by the Netherlands Film Board.
Germaine studied Film/Media Science and English Language and Literature at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands. She initiated and coordinated various research projects and publications into multi-media and education. She now is a frequent guest lecturer at the University and a freelance film writer.
