CHRIS MUSTAIN became a Senior Program Manager in IBM’s Corporate Public Affairs Department in April 2000. He is responsible for IBM’s management of various public policy issues, including Internet privacy, content rating, and domain name registration. He represents IBM on the Board of Directors of the Internet Content Rating Association. Mr. Mustain also engages in IBM’s work on global governance issues arising from emerging technologies such as wireless and pervasive computing.

Before joining IBM, Mustain served for five years as Manager of Government Relations for the European-American Business Council (EABC). He supervised EABC advocacy work on tax, trade and investment policies for 85 multinational companies from the US and Europe. He was Managing Editor the EABC’s weekly newsletter, Abstracts. Mustain also served as Acting US Issue Chairman for Taxation at the 1999 CEO Conference of the Transatlantic Business Dialogue in Berlin.

From 1991-1995, Mustain worked as a legislative analyst in the White House Office of Management and Budget. He helped develop Administration policies by coordinating the interagency clearance of testimony and draft legislation that federal agencies submitted to Congress.

Mustain is active politically in the Northern Virginia area and has worked on many federal, state, and local campaigns.

Mustain earned an M.S. with honors in International Business Diplomacy from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He received his B.A. with honors from Heidelberg College, completing majors in Political Science, Economics, and German.

Mustain, a native of the Cleveland, Ohio area, is married and has two daughters. He resides in Fairfax, Virginia.
