What is “Cache?”
Cache is the name given to your browser’s short term memory. When you visit a website, the contents of that site are downloaded onto your computer. This helps to load the page more quickly next time you visit and often allows you to see the site offline.
Why it’s important here
When you visit a site, your browser may check the cache to see if it already has a copy of the requested site. If it has, the filter cannot stop that page being loaded. So if you as a parent suspend the filter, visit a website or series of websites you don’t want your children to see, then re-enable the filter without clearing the cache, those sites are still available to your children as the browser will simply load the data from the cache, not from the internet.
