The only thing that stands between ICRAplus and your child having unfiltered internet access is your password. Likewise, the only thing standing between you only being able to see the internet through the filter you’ve set up for your children and having full access is you remembering your password!
There are actually two passwords that parents need to remember. The first is the administrator password. When you want to change the filter’s settings, you will need to know this and the login name you set when you first installed ICRAplus. There is no central record of your password. If you forget it, no one can help you directly. If your children find out what it is then not only can they change the settings but they can also change the password to one that only they know!
Please ensure you keep your administrator login name and password secure.
Because it’s so important, ICRAplus is designed so that you should never have to type your administrator password in front of your children. You will, however, sometimes want to override the block message. This is likely to happen in front of your children and they will be watching! That’s why ICRAplus has a separate override password that you should change frequently.
Don’t worry if you forget your override password. Everyone forgets passwords they change frequently! You can set a new override password without knowing the old one. But you will need your administrator password.
If you do forget your administrator password, please see the separate topic “forgotten password” for advice.
