Origin: The Zap website for children has been launched based on a research project, called the European Collaborative Environment (EUNCLE). The project brings together European Schoolnet, the coordinator, and seven other partners from all over Europe.

Safety: Any content appearing on, or linked from Zap must comply with the Appropriateness criteria, ensuring safe content for children. Sites should ideally conform also to the non-mandatory criteria.
