ICRA does not have any formal relationship with the majority of organizations listed here but does recognize the important contribution they make.

Childnet International

Childnet is a non-profit organization working around the world to help make the internet a great place for children. They run projects in 4 key areas of Access, Awareness, Protection and Policy. They also organize the annual Cable & Wireless Childnet Awards. See also Kids Smart below.


The Insafe network coordinates Internet safety awareness throughout Europe in partnership with national Safer Internet awareness nodes. It raises the impact of Internet safety actions by facilitating the exchange of information and resources between national awareness nodes.

Delivers a rich assortment of internet safety-related information and serves as a coordination point for relevant activities in 16 countries.


Media Awareness

Media Awareness Network English Francais
MNet is Canada's largest online media education resource, offering parallel Web sites in English and French. Its media education content covers all media, including the Internet. MNet's mission is to promote and support the widest possible integration of media education into schools, libraries and communities by providing comprehensive materials and tools for educators, librarians, parents and others involved in helping children become safe, wise and responsible media users.


Cybersmart Kids

Cybersmart Kids English
For Kids and Young People: A young person's guide to surfing the Net, using e-mail and chatrooms, the smart way. Have fun on the Internet and explore cool sites, but remember to always be cybersmart.

For Grown Ups: Parents can learn important tips on safe ways to enjoy the best of the Internet, whilst protecting children from the worst. Teachers can use the lesson plan, online teaching resources and homework tips to help kids be cybersmart.

This guidance is intended to make adults more aware of how to use the Internet safely, so that they can encourage safe behaviour online among children and young people.

Origin: The Zap website for children has been launched based on a research project, called the European Collaborative Environment (EUNCLE). The project brings together European Schoolnet, the coordinator, and seven other partners from all over Europe.

Safety: Any content appearing on, or linked from Zap must comply with the "Appropriateness" criteria, ensuring safe content for children. Sites should ideally conform also to the non-mandatory criteria.

The 3-D, animated activities provide fun and interesting approaches to developing safe-surfing habits on the Internet. Help children of all ages learn about dangers on the Internet and how to avoid them.

Kid Safe is a US religious-backed service providing child safety reports, and great parenting resources. It offers free child safety reports and products that parents can use to better protect their family members and family values from drugs, sex, violence, strangers and accidents.

Internet ABC Deutsch
Das Internet-ABC ist eine neue und werbefreie Plattform für den Einstieg ins Internet. Hier finded Kinder, Eltern und Pädagogen Tipps für den sicheren und kreativen Umgang mit dem Internet.

Ein Projekt der Bertelsmann Stiftung, der Landesanstalt für Rundfunk NRW und der Heinz Nixdorf Stiftung.

Le projet Educaunet va proposer une ensemble d'outils et supports pour accompagner adultes, parents enseignants, enfants et jeunes. Pierre angulaire de ce dispositif multiple, le site est désormais en pleine phase de conception expérimentale.

Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection English
Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP battles child pornography through its CP reporting hotline, and by organizing the efforts of the online adult industry to combat the heinous crime of child sexual abuse.
